MEA Executive Board Makes Big Plans For Upcoming Year

Posted on 09. Aug, 2011 by in News

MEA Strategic Planning for 2011-2012 was a huge success.  The MEA Executive Board meets once a year to plan and map out the upcoming year.  This year the team met in McCall June 17th-19th.  There was great discussion, and we are excited about the upcoming school year.  Some of the important highlights included setting goals and creating a vision Statement with the help of Jorge Rivera and Betty Jeung from NEA.   MEA projects and meetings will be centered around these goals.

Goals:

  • MEA will increase its presence within the community in order to create measurable, positive, and active support from all stakeholders by June 2012.
  • MEA will increase membership by at least 60 certified members and 60 ESP members by May 10, 2012.

Vision Statement:   The MEA is an actively engaged and ever-increasing group of educators (both Certified Staff and Educational Support Professionals) who, with the support and mutual respect of the community (including parents, legislators, and school board members), and through reciprocal communication within the Association and its parent Associations, are able to overturn the “luna” laws, enact positive educational legislation, and achieve negotiated agreements for all employees.

Our Executive Board is working hard every day for the members of this great Association.  We appreciate your continued support and will continue to do the rewarding work of furthering the profession of education.
