I used my award to get a PC/TV converter.  I use it to display internet pages, PowerPoint presentations and other digital media on my classroom TV.  The award was very easy to apply for, all it took was an email!

Cold-Hard-Cash-for-Your-Class drawing

$50 awards to 4 awardees each month!

Here’s your chance to win some cold hard cash for your class, thanks to the Idaho Education Association New Teacher Task Force.

The New Teacher Task Force will draw four winners each month from March through May ’08. Each winner will receive $50 to be used to upgrade his or her classroom.

Entering your name is simple:

1) Before the last Friday of each month, send your entry via e-mail to Ellen Currie, IEA Director of Organizational Development, at ecurrie@idahoea.org.

2) State in your email, “I am an IEA member and would like to enter the Cold Hard Cash for Your Classroom drawing.” Then briefly explain how you would use the award of $50 for your class.

If your name is drawn, you will receive a check from IEA to use in your classroom. We will contact you and ask that you send us a digital picture of yourself. We will place your picture and a description of how you intend to use the cash on the New Teacher section of the IEA website (www.idahoea.org).

If you don’t win, your name will be placed in the drawing for the next month.

NOTE: Only “new” teachers (those in their first through fifth year) are eligible to win
